Bridgegate Overnight Road Closure – 14th to 17th July
To facilitate the establishment of a site compound for the Stockwell Street Avenues project, the following road closure will be required to allow for the transfer of cabins into a disused railway arch, located on the south side of Bridgegate:
- Bridgegate Road Closure – Between Stockwell Street and King Street, in effect from 0100 hours until 0600 hours on each day between Tuesday 14th and Friday 17th July 2026.
Access to Howard Street and Goosedubbs will still be possible via Stockwell Street, however no access will be permitted to Bridgegate at the southern extents of either road. The main diversion route will be via Stockwell Street northbound, Trongate, and Saltmarket. The diversion route for Stockwell Street southbound vehicles will be via Howard Street, Dunlop Street, Clyde Street, then via the main Stockwell Street northbound, Trongate, and Saltmarket diversion. In order to facilitate the diversion, the following suspension will be in effect:
- Stockwell Street Northbound Bus, Taxi and Cycle Lane Suspension – All northbound vehicles will be permitted to use the northbound bus lane on Stockwell Street for the duration that this Order is in effect.
The Stockwell Street southbound bus gate will remain in effect throughout, as normal, allowing authorised vehicles only (buses, taxis and cycles) continued access to Victoria Bridge/Gorbals Street.
