Major improvement works to take place on the Argyle line – March to May 2022

From 13 March until 8 May 2022, major improvement works on the track, tunnels and overhead line equipment between Rutherglen and the Exhibition Centre will take place, with the line closing and no services running during that time.

Many services, which would normally operate via Glasgow Central Low Level, will be diverted into Glasgow Central High Level or Glasgow Queen Street Low Level.

Revised services will operate on all routes during the closure, and journey times may be extended on some services to allow for trains taking a diverted route.

Scotrail are currently developing plans to keep passengers moving when the improvement works take place, and invite travellers to help them during this important planning stage by completing a short survey, which will allow us to better understand your travel intentions and how the closure may impact you.
