Civic215 – A sustainable future for the British Linen Bank, High St

CIVIC 215 is a capital development project led by Civic Room that seeks to restore and create a sustainable future for 215 High Street, a former British Linen Bank building, occupied by Civic Room since 2015. This campaign will ensure that the building is preserved for future generations and is removed from the Buildings at Risk Register (BARR ref: 3154).

CIVIC 215 will transform the historic High Street Linen Bank building into a cultural landmark for future generations. Civic Room is investigating cultural, community and commercial uses of the building to develop a sustainable future for 215 High Street. Our shared vision includes a programme of contemporary art exhibitions and events, an accessible space for community groups and a unique venue for commercial events.

Civic Room is not connected with MCTCC, but we believe that this is an important opportunity for our community to help find a new use for this architectural gem.
